MOTORFEST 2009 at Hawks Nest

Some eager 315 Veteran, Vintage, Classic and Unique Vehicle and Motorcycle owners fro 41 NSW motoring clubs chose Hawks Nest as their destination to participate in MOTORFEST on 14th March 2009.This yearly Community Aid Event Day has become a very popular event thanks to its location and interesting program.

A great success were the twenty two unique trophies which were created by a club member, using defective engine and gear box parts which were mounted on a beautiful timber base and presented to the winners of the various classes.

MOTORFEST 2009, now inits seventh year, attracted motor clubs from the Sydney Basin, Central Coast, Newcastle, Hunter Region, Tamworth and from places right up to Port Macquarie. In fact it has developed into the largest NSW rural event with its display of many different makes and models.

Large clubs, like the Thoroughbred Sports Car Club, Mercedes Benz Car Club, Honda Sports Car Club, Ford FPV Club, Hillman Car Club, Jaguar Car Club, Austin A 7, Great Lakes Historic Automobile Club, Port Stephens Classic Automobile Association have become regular participants with MOTORFFEST on their annual calendar.

Of Particular interest were a number of very unique vintage vehicles: A 1923 Rolls Royce, 1935 Crossley, 1936 Chrysler, 1947 TC MG, 1968 Alfa Romeo, as well as the latest 2008 AUDI R8.

Other attractions were the Newcastle Army Band and NRMA Vintage Patrol Vehicles and Motorcycles with a display of many trophies and old photos.

Beautiful weather contributed to a perfect day and over 2500 visitors enjoyed themselves at this unique location on the Mid North Coast of New South Wales

Many vehicle owners spent the whole weekend at ahwks Nest/Tea Gardens, a coastal jewel surrounded by rivers, lakes, Port Stephens Bay, a national park and family friendly beaches. It also offers a golf course and a variety of good restaurants and great rental accommodation.

MOTORFEST 2010 is scheduled for Saturday 13th March with car display facilities for a maximum of 350 vehicles.

Annual invitation kits will be mailed out in October 2009 and early registration is essential.
